TZM is an acronym for titanium-zirconium-molybdenum and is typically manufactured by powder metallurgy or arc-casting processes. It is an alloy that has a higher recrystallization temperature, higher creep strength, and higher tensile strength than pure, unalloyed molybdenum.
TZM alloy has the characteristics of high melting point, high strength, high elastic modulus, small linear expansion coefficient, low vapor pressure, good electrical and thermal conductivity, strong corrosion resistance and good high temperature mechanical properties, so it can be widely used in many fields.
TZM Performance
The physical properties of TZM (Molybdenum-zirconium-titanium alloy) alloys
are compared with those of pure molybdenum in Table 1. TZM alloy has good mechanical properties, especially better than pure molybdenum at high temperature. Table 2 shows the mechanical properties of TZM(Ti0.5/Zr0.1) alloy, and Table 3 shows the tensile strength and elongation of TZM(Ti0.5-ZR0.08) alloy at high temperature. Table 4 shows the thermal and electrical properties of TZM alloy (Ti0.5/Zr0.1).
